Changes to Public Session Entry

Changes to Public Session Entry

Visitors to the skating rink are advised that children aged 12 and Under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over to enter the public sessions held on Friday nights at the skating  rink.

The club sincerely appreciate your support, however as the club is fully operated by volunteers, they cannot be responsible for unaccompanied children being dropped at the door. Adults entering to supervise children and not skate will not be charged for entry. There is seating available to watch your children skate.

Friday night session times are;

  • 5pm to 6.30 for 12 years and Under accompanied by an adult aged over 18 years.
  • 7pm to 9pm for 13 years and over. The doors close strictly by 9:15pm. Collection of family members must be immediately after the 9pm session finish time. The club are not responsible for skaters waiting outside for transport.

Further, the upstairs areas are out of bounds during all public and learn to skate sessions unless booked specifically by an adult for use as a “birthday party” area. Skates may not be worn upstairs under any circumstances.

The rink is owned by the New Plymouth Roller Skating Club situated on land leased from the NPDC. The cub is operated by its members who are volunteers. Public access is limited to public sessions, as spectators when events are hosted in New Plymouth by any of the skate codes offered by the cub or by special arrangement on occasion.

“Learn to Skate” classes are held on Saturday mornings during school term - starting at 9:30am sharp, skates are available to hire. Coaches request that skaters are ready to start at 9:30. Finish time is 11am. This is an instructional session.

Thank you for your cooperation.
